US, VIETNAM FIRMS TO SIGN AGREEMENTS

A series of commercial agreements between U.S. and Vietnamese companies is expected to be announced in New York on September 23 as Vietnamese leader To Lam visits the United States, covering energy, aviation, technology, finance and hospitality. The deals, many of which are expected to be non-binding, form part of Vietnam’s efforts to strengthen economic ties with Washington amid ongoing U.S. tariff threats and trade negotiations. Planned agreements include energy deals involving Murphy Oil, Chevron, ExxonMobil and Petrovietnam, while Vietjet is expected to announce leases for up to 22 Boeing and Airbus aircraft, a Starlink deal to provide satellite internet to 120 aircraft, and agreements with U.S. aviation companies. Other planned deals reportedly involve Meta, Qualcomm, Visa, Mastercard and Citibank.

The project integrates AI-powered security, smart infrastructure, digital services and data-driven management as part of Vinhomes’ broader strategy to develop future-ready urban communities. The company has previously introduced technologies including its LEED Platinum-certified TechnoPark at Vinhomes Ocean Park, the Vinhomes Resident digital platform and its SmartCity system combining AI cameras, smart lighting and IoT sensors. The WCCD certification establishes a baseline of urban data for Green Paradise – Can Gio and marks a significant step toward its development as a smart, sustainable and AI-powered urban model.

TESLA SETS UP VIETNAM UNIT

U.S. electric vehicle maker Tesla has established a subsidiary in Vietnam, marking its formal entry into one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing EV markets. According to a newly published business registration filing reviewed by Reuters, Tesla Motors Vietnam Limited Liability Company was registered in Ho Chi Minh City on September 11 with charter capital of 77.667 billion dong ($3 million). The company is authorised to conduct wholesale and retail sales of automobiles, vehicle parts, machinery and equipment, as well as related import, export and distribution activities.
